Study of Architecture

17th December 2011, Class No. 9, Study of Architecture.

The scheduled place was Archeology Museum which is located on Kasturba road, Bengaluru.

We had 2 classes left, 25th and 1st 2012 being sunday  I did not want to postpone the one class, as there would be a long gap, therefore we had class on 17th and 18th December.  Some of them could not make it to the class as the timing were from 3 to 6pm.

As the wheather was getting cold, Venu started the session with a demonstration of the museum building, he took almost 50minutes to complete the work, everybody watched him carefully while painting.  After completing some commented that it was the best work by him so far.

later some wanted to see the work of Venkatappa, I took them to the gallery where they admired the water colours and were amazed to see the scenes from Ooty which were done by K.Venkatappa a senior artist from Karnataka, they had a quick look and went straight to paint with lot of  inspiration.

Art of Water colour, class 8, Studying Village atmosphere

10-12-2011

Class No. 8 was scheduled at Siddaram Dhinne at Rajajinagar, Bengaluru.

The meeting point was star bazaar between 09:45 to 10 am, which is at the entrance of rajajinagar, most of them were in time and we left the place sharp at 10 thinking others would come directly to the spot.

It is difficult to find a place like village in Bengaluru city, as it has developed a lot since IT sector hit the city to top. Either we need to travel nearly 20km outside the city to get a village atmosphere.  All our participants come from different locality, most of them stay outskirt the city where one has to travel minimum of 10km even if we hold a class at central Bengaluru.  It is then I decided to hold the class at Rajajinagar where I found a village atmosphere at siddaram dhinne.

Everybody were excited  to paint at village, but none were disappointed when they came to Siddaram Dhinne, (which is just 4 km from railway station) when they saw the atmosphere with cock, hen, sheep, cows and houses with mangalore tiles which were a typical scene of village.  People greeted us with a staring  look they did not know why we were there, after talking to some main people they were polite and asked me if I require anything like chair or table to paint.

As usual we started with a sketching session followed by demonstration by Venu

Bengaluru being called garden city, is also maintaining its countable lakes in absolute mint condition in and around the city, among them Sankey Lake is one with its beautiful landscapes.  The place is opened to public in between 5:30 to 10 am and 4:30 to 8pm, during these time lot of people visit the place for yoga, walk and meditation.

The class was early in the morning 7:30 am to 10 am as the lake remained closed for public, some missed the class as they were unable to make it in time.

Studying water and reflection was one of our subject in the 10 week water colour workshop.  We have reached 7th class and all our participants are pretty comfortable with the medium.  It is now that we are moving further in the class.  The whether was awesome to sketch and paint as it was not chill.

We were there at sankey lake sharp at 7:30 am and some of them had already been there, by 7:45 most of them were there except for few who were unable to make it.  As usual the session started with sketching, but due to the time limitation Venu started the demonstration early, it went on for 45minutes and the others were eagerly waiting for him to finish so that they could start painting.
