Water colour painting at Sankey Lake

4th December 2011

Class No. 7,  Study of Water / Reflection at Sankey Lake, Sadashivnagar, Bengaluru.

Bengaluru being called garden city, is also maintaining its countable lakes in absolute mint condition in and around the city, among them Sankey Lake is one with its beautiful landscapes.  The place is opened to public in between 5:30 to 10 am and 4:30 to 8pm, during these time lot of people visit the place for yoga, walk and meditation.

The class was early in the morning 7:30 am to 10 am as the lake remained closed for public, some missed the class as they were unable to make it in time.

Studying water and reflection was one of our subject in the 10 week water colour workshop.  We have reached 7th class and all our participants are pretty comfortable with the medium.  It is now that we are moving further in the class.  The whether was awesome to sketch and paint as it was not chill.

We were there at sankey lake sharp at 7:30 am and some of them had already been there, by 7:45 most of them were there except for few who were unable to make it.  As usual the session started with sketching, but due to the time limitation Venu started the demonstration early, it went on for 45minutes and the others were eagerly waiting for him to finish so that they could start painting.

  1. Very nice effort by every single one of the artists. As a very impartial bystander I can tell you that all the participants are showing very good improvement. I particularly like the studies done by Raj Mathur and Roopa because they have managed to separate the main subject from the background more effectively than the others.
